January Phone Buying Guide

The New Year has come, & many of you might have planned to buy a new phone . So iv compiled a list of the best phones i see in the market ..

Below Rs.5000

Karbonn A5 {4300}I know it is not a new launch , but its the best android phone as it has a 800 MHz CPU + 512 MB ram ( most phones have only 256 mb ram)

Also this phone has a few developers working on it as well .

-Dual sim

-wifi

-3G

Nokia Asha 305 {4600}

Nothing special in this phone , except the fact that Nokia is a very reputed brand in the budget segment .

Go for it if you would consider buying from a company for a good reputation & good after sales service .

Samsung Metro Duos {3100}

A good feature phone for those who would love to have a good , hassle free feature phone

Also , U have the option of Nokia Asha 200 qwerty phone for texting lovers.

Rs.5000 to 10,000

You have some good options here , with Windows Phone , Nokia's Symbian , & Android present in the fray:

Nokia Lumia 510 {around 9800}

I Have used the Lumia 510 , & frankly, there is no other phone in this range that has such a smooth feel to it . NO LAG whatsoever .

it has got only 256 MB ram only , but that doesnt seem to slow down the Windows Phone OS{Great work by Microsoft}. Another con is only 2.2 GB of available storage ( NOT EXPANDABLE)

but if you can live with that , it is one of the best phones.

The Micromax A110 {10,000}

If you want to own a Phablet , think no further . This is it . At this price point there are many brands who are selling the similar phones , but Micromax is the best of the lot of Indian companies . Also this phone has probably the biggest developer base for an Indian brand phone .For 10,000 you get :

1GHz dual core Mediatek 6577 chipset

512 MB ram

around 3 GB internal storage + 32 GB expandable .

Rs.10,000 to 15,000

Micromax A90S {12,500}

Only Phone Below 15,000 to have a Super Amoled Display .For 12,500 you get :

512MB Ram
3 GB Int. Storage + 32 GB expandable.
Super Amoled Display

Nokia Lumia 710 {14,500}

A Good Windows Phone device in this range :

512MB Ram
8 GB Int. Storage

Sony Xperia U {12,000}

The Xperia U is a nicely built phone from Sony . A Great Camera , good sound Quality and a high quality screen is what you want , then this is a good choice in this range :

Nokia Lumia 800 {18,000}

Although this isnt a new Phone , it used to be a flagship. If looks matter a lot to you , & specs dont , Lumia 800 has Windows Phone 7.5 & its really smooth to work on :

Samsung Galaxy S Duos {16,500}

This is the dual sim variant of the original Galaxy , Having a single core CPU.Overall it is a nice phone , but not a very powerful one:

Nokia 808 PureView {25,000}

This is the Phone with the best Camera on it . If you just want a phone with a great camera & can work with Symbian , don't think beyond it .

Samsung Galaxy S2 {24,000}

The S2 was launched more than an year back but it still has the specs to keep going in the race .For 24K , you get a phone that was once a flagship & that still has the ability to play most of the HD Games on it , not to mention the HUGE Developer Base .

Samsung Galaxy Note {27,500}

The World's 1st Phablet smartphone , Galaxy Note is the smartphone to carry {if you are comfy with the huge size}. Also it is scheduled to get an Jelly Bean 4.1.2 update that will bring goodies that the Note 2 has on it . Overall a Nice buy for its price.

Sony Xperia Ion {30,000}

For Sony fans this is their current flagship phone , Although it may certainly not be comparable in terms of specs it is a nice looking phone .

The current Samsung Flagship along with the Note 2 , The S3 is probably Samsung's best smartphone to date.It has all the specs you need to work ,play & enjoy.

HTC 8X {33,600}

With latest version of Windows Phone , this the latest release by HTC. For 33k you get a great OS & a nice phone .Try it if you just want to look different from the hoard of Android people . Buy the HTC 8X & be different , try a new OS.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 {37,500}

The successor to the original Note, Galaxy Note 2 is a powerfull smartphone .All apps , Games , software ,etc. ,practically everything is goin to run buttery smooth on this one . A Must buy if you have 40k to spend on a smartphone.

Iphone 5 {43,000 to 58,000}
The Iphone 5 is the latest offering from Apple , powered by their latest chipset is currently the most expensive smartphone . If you have that kind of money , or you are an Apple fanboy , go , buy it .
