April is here , & so are many new phones { and the old ones with a lesser price tag} available in the Indian Market.
So here is a list of them which I think are worth buying , in a specific budget.

Under .5,000

Celkon A 87 ₹5,000

Celkon A87

4 inch screen {320*480}
Dual Sim
5 MP Camera
512 MB Ram
Android 2.3
512 MB internal , Micro SD card expansion.
This the best phone when it comes to specs in the under 5k budget.
1 GHz CPU & 512 MB of RAM will make for a smooth Android experience.
No other phone in this budget has 512 MB of Ram.

Micromax Bolt A 27 - ₹3,500

Micromax Bolt A27
1 GHz CPU
Dual Sim
256 MB RAM
0.3 MP Camera
Android 2.3
160 MB internal Storage , with expansion via  Micro SD card.
This is the phone that has the price tag of being a first Android phone for users who have a low budget.
Instead of going for a phone that has no recognized OS , go for this handset & you get access to thousands of Apps that the Play Store has to offer.

Nokia Asha 309 - ₹4,750

Nokia Asha 309
3 inch screen
Single Sim
2 MP Camera

Now the specs don't matter for this phone.
It runs on Symbian  , so there will be a few Apps that will work with this phone.
Its a good phone for the loyal Nokia Customer.

Under .10,000

XOLO B 700 - ₹9,000

Xolo B700

5 MP Rear Camera
0.3 MP Front Camera
Internal 4GB , expansion via Micro SD Card upto 32GB.
512 MB Ram
3450 mAh battery

The USP of this phone is the Mammoth battery inside it.

Buy this phone if you are fed up of charging your device every day.

Nokia Lumia 510 - ₹9,000

Nokia Lumia 510
800 MHz CPU
256 MB RAM
5 MP Camera
Windows Phone 7.5
4 GB internal Storage , no expansion slot.
This phone was on my list in January,  & still is in the list in April.
Reason - Windows Phone.
Although its successor is already in the market , { Lumia 520 } this phone still a good one to go for.
If you haven't used Windows Phone yet , go to your nearest Nokia store & take hands on  preview of it.
Its pretty simple & smooth.

Sony Xperia E - ₹10,000

Sony Xperia E
3.5 inch screen {320*480}
1 GHz Qualcomm CPU
512 MB Ram
3.2 MP Camera
Android 4.1

The Specs on this phone seem to be competitive only to the Under 5k phones { Celkon A87 beats it even in that category} , but the presence of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with its project Butter & Sony's stylish design still makes it a pretty good phone to use.
Go for it if you are comfortable with Sony.

The Q800 has the Mediatek Quad Core CPU , so it is a pretty powerful phone .The design & build of the phone is pretty good . The Camera of this phone is equipped wit ha BSI sensor , which means it will give good images even in low light conditions { MMX A116 lacks this feature}

768 MB RAM
8 MP Rear Camera

2460 mAh battery
This phone seems to be the best phone when it comes to an all-round android experience .

1 GHz Qualcomm Dual Core Krait CPU
512 MB Ram

Lumia 620 with the dual core Krait cores is probably the beat Windows Phone that Nokia has managed to make in this budget segment.
With more Apps available in the Windows Phone App Store , & Nokia's Maps , Stores , & good build quality this a phone that should not disappoint { as long as you are comfortable with Windows Phone}.

Although they may look the same {specs wise} , the HTC 8S has an edge over the Lumia 620.
It has a slighly larger screen , an LCD 2 Display & has Beats Audio integrated.
If you like the above features , go for it.
Otherwise Lumia 620 is a pretty good smartphone.

XOLO X1000 - ₹20,000

2 GHz Intel Atom
1 GB RAM
8 MP Rear Camera

8 GB internal Storage , no expansion slot.

The second phone from XOLO was presumed to be powered by the Clover Trail+ CPU.
But instead they gave the Medfield anotehr Try instead.
Clocked @ 2Ghz , it would rarely lag in everyday usage.
The Thing I liked about this smartphone was the looks. It has a premium feel to it .
Go for it only if you want an Intel Cpu.

8 GB Internal memory , expandable up to 64 GB

Exactly same in the looks as the original S2 , this S2+ is its newer avatar.
It is powered by the same Broadcom CPU as the Grand , which gives a pretty good experience.
Although I would suggest going for the Sony Xperai SL or ION if you can get a hold of one.

What pains the most is seeing your premium class smartphone become useless after having come into contact with Water or dust.
This is the very area where the Xperia Z conquers them all.It is dust & water proof , so along-with the most powerful specs you get a phone which can withstand all weather conditions.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 - ₹36,700

The most expensive Windows Phone is one that must be seen to take a view of its brilliance.
The display is brilliant , the OS is very smooth & Nokia has designed a very fine design for the Lumia 920.

Smartphones Above ₹40,000

The only smartphones that come under this range are the Blackberry Z10 , which is a good buy for existing BB customers.
Blackberry Z10
HTC Butterfly also retails around the price of Z10 , but it has the same specs as the Xperia Z & not enough features to distinguish itself & justify the 8k difference.
HTC Butterfly
The Apple Iphone 5 , which is the most expensive & arguably the best smartphone , starts from around 41k for the 16 GB model. If you can afford it , you should have bought it by now.
