Kickback this weekend with some nostalgic Zune tunes Posted: 09 Nov 2013 03:05 PM PST Remember Microsoft's Zune line of multimedia players? I haven't forgotten, and to this day, the Zune 120 GB Black "Brick" remains as one of my favorite pieces of hardware from the past. To help everyone relax, while bringing back some Microsoft nostalgia, below is a short video list of some of the rocking (and mellow) tunes used in the original commercials. |
Readit, PicHit.Me, Fitbit Tracker and more are your app highlights of the week Posted: 09 Nov 2013 11:09 AM PST Another week has gone by and we've got a handful of great new apps in the Windows Phone Store. A lot can happen in the span of one week, so we're here to roundup and highlight any new apps in the Store. We'll also look at popular apps that were updated and any betas you should be aware of. That's right, it's time for another weekly app highlight from your friends at Windows Phone Central. We never want you to fall behind on what's happening, so let's get started. |
Facebook for Windows 8.1 updated with sharing options and more Posted: 09 Nov 2013 10:27 AM PST The official Facebook app for Windows 8 has been updated with some exciting new features. If you're an avid Facebook fan, you'll be pleased to learn that you are now able to download photos, as well as send them in messages. Another major improvement is the share charm support, enabling other Windows apps to share content with the social network. |
Unofficial Flickr app 2flicka updated with group support, galleries and more Posted: 09 Nov 2013 09:03 AM PST If you're wanting something more than what the official Flickr app offers on Windows Phone, you should look no further than 2flicka. The app has been updated to version 1.1 in just over a week since we covered the lunch - that's not bad going. Some of the new features in this release include galleries and support for groups. There are a bunch of miscellaneous improvements to boot that will improve the overall experience. |
Chase Mobile banking app updated to 1.47; feels snappier Posted: 09 Nov 2013 08:02 AM PST The Chase Mobile app was updated today with system enhancements to improve app performance. No new features are added, but we can confirm that the app feels snappier. Chase customers can use the app to view balances, transactions, pay bills, transfer money, find branches and ATMs nearby, and deposit checks right from your phone. |
Waiting for your Xbox One delivery? One lucky gamer already has his Posted: 09 Nov 2013 07:58 AM PST Waiting for the Xbox One to launch? Unfortunately for those who are patient enough, it turns out that some fans have already received their deliveries. One lucky soul, who goes by the Twitter handle @moonlightswami, has published some media to the social network showing off the new console and revealing details about the launch titles. |
Toy Pirates, battling it out on the high seas from your Windows Phone Posted: 09 Nov 2013 06:32 AM PST Toy Pirates is a naval combat game for our Windows Phones that has you controlling a small pirate ship that must navigate the high seas and battle an assortment of enemy ships. Sounds simple, right? Well the twist comes in the form of a floating maze that you have to sail through to get to your enemy. Canon shots can ricochet off the walls, which can be rather hazardous, and charges can be set to blast the walls into tiny little pieces. There is a bit of strategy involved with game play and overall Toy Pirates is a decent game for our Windows Phones. However, while entertaining, I couldn't help but think something was missing. |
