Posted: 28 Oct 2013 03:09 PM PDT

Watch Corner Gas

Watch Corner Gas is a Windows Phone 8 entertainment app that delivers the Canadian sitcom Corner Gas to your phone.  Watch Corner Gas lets you stream all 107 episodes of the Canadian sitcom Corner Gas which ran from 2004 to 2009. The comedy series is described as "the Canadian version of Seinfeld" and in just checking out a few episodes, I can see the comparison.

On a side note the app was developed in part with the relatively new Microsoft App Studio and later fine tuned in Visual Studio.  The App Studio was designed to show app developers how to build a full Windows Phone app prototype without any programming code, all from a web browser.  An effort to make it easier for developers to jump on board with Windows Phone.

Have questions about the Nokia Lumia 1520? Ask away in our forums as someone has one

Posted: 28 Oct 2013 10:12 AM PDT

The Nokia Lumia 1520 was announced last week and for the most part, we already know what we need to know about it. It's a 6-inch 1080P LCD display device with a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, it comes with 16 or 32 GB of internal storage, it has microSD expansion and takes a Nano SIM. To power it all, it has a massive 3400 mAh battery and an oversampling 20 MP rear PureView camera.

But wait, you want more information? Although major tech sites are awaiting official review units from Nokia, including ourselves, you can head into our forums to discuss. How so? Forum member 'ALpHa.Q.RoUgH' evidently has one on hand and is taking your questions (you can even see some photos of the device, like the one above).

Don't forget, in 8.1 developers have a few new tools to take advantages of, including a new tile size ("large") and the updated "snap view", which has been replaced in 8.1 with a more flexible system.

So what's new in IM+ for Windows 8.1? Let's take a look at the full changelog as we have all of the details.

Nokia Future runner up, Social Scene brings time-lapse photography to Windows Phone 8

Posted: 28 Oct 2013 08:11 AM PDT

Social Scene Lead

Time-lapse photography can create some interesting effects. The technique involves recording film at lower frame rates than that used for playback. The end result is what appears to be a sped up film - think the opposite of slow motion. Social Scene is an app that brings time-lapse photography to Windows Phone. But it's much more than just a simple camera app. Head on past the break to see why.
