Posted: 15 Nov 2013 02:46 PM PST

It seems that we can't have any big Apple product release these days without it being laden with some sort of baggage. The infamous 'antennagate' debacle of the iPhone 4 was perhaps the biggest blow up that we've seen lately, but that doesn't mean that other products haven't had their fair share of issues. It seems that the very recent release of the iPad mini 2 with Retina display may be the latest Apple hardware to suffer from an issue that could very well be blown out of all proportion.

Temple Run Movie Is In The Works, Harry Potter Producer David Heyman On Board

Posted: 15 Nov 2013 10:25 AM PST

It's becoming a rather familiar trajectory; game becomes popular on mobile devices, sells millions, makes a household name of itself, and then inks a deal to make a movie. Angry Birds already has a film in production due for release in 2016, and Temple Run, that Indiana Jones-esque running title that looked as if it was based on a movie in the first place, will also be hitting screens in the not-so-distant future. A Warner Bros. movie, the studio has enlisted David Heyman, producer of the immensely popular Harry Potter series, to take Temple Run to the box office.

As soon as Android 4.4 KitKat was formally announced, it was certain that the newer Nexus devices will definitely be getting the new version of the operation system. Nexus 4, the one year old Nexus flagship that is still plenty powerful, obviously made the cut, but it didn't get an OTA update for the latest Android version as soon as it surfaced on Nexus 5. All we kept hearing was "a few weeks" without any definitive availability date. Well, we guess it's pretty close now, as Google has posted the factory images for Android 4.4 KitKat for the Nexus 4 on its developer portal.

Posted: 15 Nov 2013 08:39 AM PST

In May, Google revealed that its "All Access" music app would be hitting iOS, and since the search giant also noted that it was just a few weeks away, we expected to be grooving to some of our favorite songs through the service by summertime. Although it did seem as though the Android maker had completely forgotten about those on Apple's mobile OS, we now know this not to be the case, as the Google Play Music app has just hit the iOS App Store. Full details, as well as that download link, can be seen after the fold.

Now that Sony's PlayStation 4 console is officially available to purchase, we can sit back and watch the floods of reviews come in from those lucky enough to get their hands on one. Today's average video game fanatic will more than likely be interested in the computational power of the console and how it renders game visuals on screen rather than the internal intricacies of the hardware. However, whenever any new consumer product is released that grabs public attention, we can always rely on the iFixit team to void their own warranty and show us areas of the hardware that the average user...

Posted: 15 Nov 2013 06:06 AM PST

It's hard to keep track of how many insanely powerful smartphones exist in today's market. Apple's iPhone and Samsung's Galaxy range of hardware seem to gain most of the attention, and let's be honest here, it is rather difficult to find a better all-round alternative to those beasts. But what do you do if you're the type of person who doesn't like to follow the pack or jump on popular bandwagons? Do you boycott a mobile device altogether, stick with an old-school feature phone or opt for something totally unique? The Russians over at Yota Devices would like you to opt for the latter and get...
