Outside of iMessage, BBM, and whatever chat app Google is pushing we've got them all. WhatsApp and Skype are arguably the most popular, based on anecdotal evidence from you all in comments. But LINE Messenger is pretty popular too. In fact, the service boasts some 280 million users in over 231 countries. It's also just been updated on Windows Phone. Let's check out what's new. |
Join the Youmigo beta, an exclusive app for Windows Phone to make friends around the world Posted: 11 Nov 2013 04:28 PM PST We're big fans of apps that chose to launch exclusive on Windows Phone first before going cross-platform. We're also big fans when those apps revolve around a unique idea. Youmigo is an app that's currently in beta for Windows Phone 8 users that is not only exclusive to Windows Phone, but pretty unique. Let's check it out and give you details on joining this beta. |

Windows Phone Central: Three million strong and growing, thanks to you Posted: 11 Nov 2013 12:43 PM PST As we start to come to the end of 2013, we figured we would have a little site celebration and say thanks. Just a few days ago, Windows Phone Central hit the 3 million unique visitors a month threshold. To put that number in perspective, it was just 11 months ago when we hit 1 million uniques—that's a healthy 200% increase in less than a year. One-third of that is US based, while the rest, we're proud to say, is the rest of the world... |

SkyDrive on Xbox One will bring your pictures and videos to life Posted: 11 Nov 2013 11:18 AM PST
Whatever Microsoft ends up calling SkyDrive won't matter to use too much. The service is easily one of our favorite cloud storage solutions, but does so much more if you're inside the Microsoft ecosystem. From syncing your PC apps and settings across your devices on Windows 8.1 to automagically saving your Windows Phone images, SkyDrive is awesome. And it's about to get a lot better for folks using the service on the Xbox One. |
Samsung ATIV S Neo (AT&T) - Hands on and first impressions Posted: 11 Nov 2013 10:14 AM PST We go hands on with AT&T's latest Windows Phone, the ATIV S NeoThis past weekend, AT&T released the Samsung ATIV S Neo, their first Windows Phone 8 Samsung device. Released earlier this year on Sprint, the ATIV S Neo is a version 1.1 of the original ATIV S—more slight refinements than an overhaul. Samsung was once again not interested in promoting their device so we had to go out and buy the phone ourselves, instead of a standard review unit. The phone runs for $99 on contract or $420 off and while many Lumia fans won't find much to gawk over, the phone is a solid entry into the Windows Phone category. We'll be following up with a full review in a bit, but here are our quick impressions of the latest Windows Phone 8 device for AT&T. Check out our video tour and high resolution photos after the break! |
