How do you find out about apps? Blogs, browsing the Windows Phone Store, or maybe asking friends? App Social (previously called App Highlights) from Nokia is one of our favorite ways to discover new apps.

The hybrid social network allows for users to create lists of their favorite apps. And like any good social network, you can follow users if you want to see what sort of apps they recommend. It's another tool for users to discover new and exciting apps. App Social itself is fairly new to the scene. So to help promote it, Nokia's made a pretty funny video. Check it out after the break.  

Even though we're a day away from Nokia World, it doesn't mean leaks can't still happen. The latest this morning is for the Nokia 'Guru', which was revealed by evleaks to be akin to an "iPod Shuffle with NFC" built in.

While Nokia has been known for their phones and well-made accessories, it's not too farfetched to imagine them making a music accessory.

Find yourself on the Arabian Peninsula? Using the free and awesome photo-weather app Ciel? Then head to that app's built in store to pick up the free Arabian Nights Pack, which features 14 new templates.

Some of those templates feature Arabic writing, while another has 'Nokia World' emblazoned across while most are "neutral", meaning you can easily use them after Nokia's big event on Tuesday. The bonus pack, which was launched in addition to the $0.99 Halloween themed one, is a nice nod from the developer for this momentous occasion.

Great news if you're a AT&T U-Verse, Mediacom or Verizon FiOS customer, as you can now download and take full advantage of Fox's new FOX NOW app for Windows Phone. Actually, anyone can download and use the app to watch free clips and even a selection of full episodes, but customers on the aforementioned cable networks get all episodes.

Good evening folks, at least for those of you who are on Abu Dhabi time! The Windows Phone Central team is assembling in this fascinating part of the world, with myself and Sam Sabri arriving today and iMore's Richard Devine lending a hand as well. What for? Why Nokia World 2013, of course.

You read that right, we'll have no less than three pairs of boots on the ground for this triumphant occasion, starting on Tuesday, October 22nd. On top of that, we'll have our usual crack team of Rich Edmonds and George Ponder manning the backend for all day coverage.

Have you looked at your Samsung ATIV S and thought what it would be like if you could have a third column of Live tiles? We'll be getting more room for Live Tiles with the 1080p hardware that will arrive alongside GDR3, but if you own the Samsung Windows Phone 8 device (interop-unlocked), you'll be able to add more tiles to your Start screen with some handy homebrew tools.

It's only a matter of days before we're live from the Nokia World event in Abu Dhabi and it looks like Nokia China is too excited to keep the Lumia 1520 a secret. The official Nokia China store already published a pre-order page for Lumia 1520, accompanied by a fair amount of product information. What's more is the product listing is still live.

Nokia World will soon be upon us (in fact, we're already on our way out there), but that's not halting leaks and more from being published. Evleaks, a Twitter profile which has been fairly accurate in the past, has posted what are reported to be specifications of the Lumia 1520 - aka. "Nokia Bandit." While we'll be able to bring you the announcements, hands-on and more from the event floor, what are we looking at here?
