A month ago , Blackberry Ltd. notified its release of its fabled BlackBerry messenger on Google's Android & Apple's iOS Platfrom. Sadly it was a failed attempt as there were some issues because of an "unrealeased " apk in the Android ecosystem.
A Month later , today BBM is now finally on Android as well as iOS platfrom.
Follow the link here to go to blackberry's site and download the BBM messenger from the respective App Store :
If you had registered to be notified about its release on their website , you'll get front row seats { meaning your BBM will get activated ASAP } otherwise , there is a bit of a waiting list here.
So , I've got it on my Android phone & this is how it looks like:
The UI is exceptionally smooth , no lag whatsoever & it looks pretty polished .
The BBM concept is pretty simple.
After registering , you get a pin , { mixture of characters & numerals } which identifies you.
You give someone that pin , they connect with you & that's just about it.Yes of course there is more to it , but I haven't used it that much till now.
Now for those of you who would like to know if they can run BBM on their Androids , you need atleast 70-80MB Ram free overall for running it {or atleast 100+MB Ram free for you to run your Android device smoothly}
BBM seems to consume more RAM than Whatsapp , but it seems to be a worthy download for those who don't like certain features of Whatsapp, or just want to explore what BBM is like.
