Nokia has always been a pioneer in mobile photography. Devices like the Nokia Lumia 1520 and 1020 are just some of the latest examples of how Nokia continues to push the boundaries of what's possible on mobile. Today at Nokia World 2013, we've just learned of how Nokia continues to plans on pushing the envelope with mobile photography. RAW support anyone?

Nokia music is expanding. The service is launching in Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam, following the recent release in Indonesia. That's not all as Nokia is also taking its music service to new hardware. We're not talking about phones or handheld devices, but vehicles. The company is pushing hard for market penetration, as well as setting out on new ventures.

Announced as part of the apps suite coming with the new Nokia Lumia 2520 here at Nokia World 2013, Nokia Video Director does exactly what it says on the tin. It takes video clips you've shot either on the tablet, or that you've shot and transferred from your Lumia smartphone, and edits them into slick looking videos with ease. 

Announced today in Abu Dhabi at Nokia World 2013, the new Lumia 1520 is a step into the realms of the supersized smartphone. Make no mistake, it's a large phone, but it isn't the only supersized smartphone out there. Taking a tour of the booth, we've managed to snag a quick side-by-side comparison of the Lumia 1520 with a couple of the leading large phones from Sony and Samsung; the Xperia Z Ultra and the Galaxy Note 3. Suddenly, the Lumia doesn't seem quite so huge.

Nokia has finally done it. They've announced their first Windows 8.1 RT tablet. It's called the Lumia 2520 and is actually incredibly compelling. We're at Nokia World 2013 in Abu Dhabi today where Nokia has unveiled the new Lumia 2520, a Windows 8 tablet. Alongside the tablet, the Lumia 1520 and Lumia 1320 have also been unveiled as two new "phablets." Nokia World 2013 is in full effect now. Nokia has just shown off a handful of new devices in the Asha and Lumia range. The one we're most excited about is the Nokia Lumia 1520. The device (and its display) is simply remarkable. We just spent some time with the Lumia 1520, so read on to see our first impression, photos and video from our time with it.

Nokia today unveiled that an official Vine (www.vine.co) app is well on the way to Windows Phone. If you're not familiar with the service, it's a social network owned by Twitter. You essentially record and share clips that are up to 6 seconds in length. The recordings can be of anything you choose, be it cats, humorous sketches or just random updates. 

Nokia World 2013 is here and if you blink you'll miss a handful of stories coming out of it. Nokia has just announced two new note-taking applications for your Lumia 1520 and devices. Both apps are already wildly popular on Android and are now poised to take the Windows Phone world by storm. InNote and Papyrus are coming to Windows Phone.

Nokia. Windows 8. Tablet. Yeah, it's happening. Nokia's been rumored to have a tablet in the pipeline for years now, but has finally announced one here at Nokia World 2013 in Abu Dhabi. The Lumia 2520 is the first device from Nokia powered by a Snapdragon 800 processor. This might look like your typical tablet running Windows RT on paper, but it has the typical Nokia twist you find in their smartphones. Let's take a look at some of the official specs before we get our hands-on with the device shortly.

It's finally here, after being announced earlier this summer Nokia is finally showing off Flipboard for Windows Phone. The app has long been wanted on Windows Phone, but now the app is set to shine on the beautiful display of the Nokia Lumia 1520. This is Flipboard for Windows Phone.

Nokia's portfolio of devices this past year have been remarkable at hitting a variety of price points for consumers. The lineup they're announcing here at Nokia World 2013 appears to be following that same theme with the Lumia 1320. Instagram and Nokia have announced that an official app is due for Windows Phone

The day has finally arrived, folks. Instagram is officially heading to Windows Phone in the "coming weeks". Announced this morning in Abu Dhabi during Nokia World 2013, the longtime thorn in the heel for Microsoft's struggling platform has finally been pulled.

Kevin Systrom, CEO and co-founder of Instagram had this to say of the announcement:

"Our ultimate goal is to bring Instagram to everyone who wants to use it…We're looking forward to watching the Windows Phone community use Instagram to capture and share beautiful moments in the coming weeks."

This morning in Abu Dhabi, Nokia revealed their latest creation for mobile photography: StoryTeller. The app, available on their Lumia 2520 Windows RT 8.1 tablet and Lumia 1520 Windows Phone, allows users to maintain their photos in mini collections, organized for them automatically.

The app works off of Nokia's HERE Maps, points of interests, time and date. StoryTeller works by using all of that available information to categorize your photos, even selecting the best photos (weeding out blurry ones) for you, to give a unified retelling of your night out.

The event begins 11 AM Abu Dhabi time, or 3 AM ET/12AM PT on October 22nd. Learn your local time here.

Microsoft has had to endure complaints surrounding an issue since Windows Phone originally launched back in 2010 - not enough official apps. It's true the platform is still missing a number of official solutions, but since Windows Phone 8 was released, support has slowly been growing at a slow, but steady rate. The Windows Phone Store now has more than 160,000 apps.

We've seen banks, mobile operators, broadcasters and more pop on to the Windows Phone Store, but there's always that one app you need but it's just not there (and there's no decent third-party alternative). Microsoft is looking to address this problem by packaging mobile websites and packaging them as web apps.

Surfy is a tabbed web browser for our Windows Phones. It was initially released for Windows Phone 7 and was overhauled earlier this year for Windows Phone 8. However due to a few stability issues publicizing the app was held off until those bugs could be addressed.

The updated version went live over the weekend and delivers a rather peachy tabbed web browser with voice command support. Version 2.1 of Surfy also adds a text to speech feature that adds an audio reading of web pages.

In the short time we've tinkered with Surfy this afternoon, it makes a nice impression. It might just be that Windows Phone web browser you've been looking for.

If you've been following news of the Windows RT 8.1 update, you'll know that Microsoft has pulled the release due to some issues that consumers have experienced while attempting to upgrade their tablets (be it Surface RT or other models from OEM partners). Redmond has now released a Surface RT 8.0 recovery image, which can be used on a "bricked" tablet to take you back to original factory configuration.

Nokia World is quickly approaching, being only a handful of hours away, but the leaks continue to roll out. Evleaks has now published the above render of the Lumia 1320, which is expected to be announced tomorrow. The device once again looks to be fairly large, potentially hitting the 6-inch ceiling - a low-range "phablet," if you will.

There are plenty of battery performance apps available for our Windows Phones. You can now add Battery to the list of Windows Phone 8 apps that can chart, track and keep you updated on how much life your Windows Phone battery has left.

But Battery will go a little further by offering shortcuts to key Windows Phone settings and the option to backup and share your battery performance data.  It's one of the more feature rich battery performance apps in the Windows Phone Store and is easily worth the time to check out.

It's go time, people! In just under 12 hours, Nokia will be unveiling all of their new devices, including a couple of new rumored Windows Phones, a possible Windows RT 8.1 tablet and some accessories.
